Your order alerts and how to call the driver without sharing your number
We let you know when the driver is 5 minutes away, when to come out (if you chose hand delivery) and when they’re at your door, also by SMS. And you can call them with a masked number.
How it works
While your order is on the way, the app alerts you: “Arriving in 5 minutes” when the driver is about 5 minutes away; “Come out to meet your driver” at 2 minutes if you chose hand delivery; “Almost here” a block away; and “Your driver is at your door” on arrival.
The “at your door” and “can’t find you” alerts also reach you by text message (SMS) on your account’s mobile number, in case your phone is on silent or has no data.
If you need to talk to the driver, tap “Call the driver (masked number)”: we call you first and, when you answer, connect you with them. Neither of you sees the other’s number: you both see Tumbite’s number. The driver can call you the same way.
The order chat is still there to write without calling.

Steps
- Keep your account’s phone nearby: alerts come through the app and by SMS.
- If you chose hand delivery, come out when you see “Come out to meet your driver.”
- To talk, tap “Call the driver (masked number)” and answer the call.
